As a creative facilitator, my aim is to help people access their creativity through a variety of mediums and expressions. The idea is not to create the perfect picture, but rather to become engrossed in the creative process itself. When we are engaged in the creative process, we are drawn back into the present moment where our focus is narrowed and our state of being is calm.
In a world increasingly dominated by passive consumption, engaging in a creative practice allows us to take back control of our attention and use our mind for creation rather than consumption.
Creativity helps us understand that we are not simply here to consume the world around us, we also have the ability to shape it, contribute to it, and leave our own unique mark upon it.
More than that, creativity as a therapeutic modality, can strengthen our connection to ourselves and help build a stronger sense of identity.
